Multiple Effect Evaporators

Multiple Effect Evaporators makes efficient utilization of heat from steam for evaporation and finds application in sugar mills. Apart from this work area, these evaporators also find use in industrial sectors like pharmaceutical & drug industries, textile dying, pulp mills and others that generate high quantity of toxic effluents having over limits of BOD, COD, TS and TDS level with black colored and odor effluent.

Multiple Effect Evaporators

Working principle :
  • Multiple-effect evaporator involves boiling of water in sequence of vessels where each one is held at lower pressure in comparison to the previous one
  • With decrease in pressure, boiling temperature decreases
  • As vapor boiled off in one vessel used to heat next, in this scenario only first vessel (at highest pressure) needs support of external heat source
  • Though in theory, evaporators can be built with arbitrarily large number of stages, it is rarely evaporators with more than four stages are rarely practical.
Manufacturing range :
  • The evaporator system is designed for heating surface areas as per defined process requirements
  • We can supply these within general range of 100 m2 to 4000 m2
  • The tubes offered are of stainless steel and available within range of 3 m to 6 m length
Design Features :
  • Evaporators comes steel fabricated in vertical tubular construction
  • Features support of stainless steel pipes that come fixed along its length
  • All pipes & joints coming high pressure tested so as to achieve maximum heating and process efficiency
  • Allows for efficient distribution of steam with baffle plates
  • Assists in achieving optimum removal of non-condensable gases, thus allowing for better heat transfer
  • Less space needed because of long tube design
  • Allows for less inversion losses due to less retention time of juice at high temperatures
  • Calendria designed with sufficient annular space as well as providing tangential steam entry of exhaust & exit of non condensate gasses from centre
  • Umbrella provided above top tube plate provided for avoiding carry over juice particles through vapor
  • Assists in attaining high brix of syrup
